This is a tutorial by Rex Harby, he shows how usefull boolean can be in some circomstances, in this short tutorial you will learn the basics of the Boolean modifier.
Nice. Thanks for reminding me about these things! I don't think the other guys have covered this one at all. And GOOD point about using these to create those hard to crease openings that don't want to cooperate! I hate adding loop cuts to tighten edges that won't crease right because it always goes father than you need it to! I needed to see this tutorial. Thanx!
hi, my names jeff bright, and ive been using blender for a while now, (also UDK) and i didnt even know about this!!! i knew there was one in UDK, but whenever they used it, i was like, why doesnt blender have something to cut shapes out of the shape you already have?....well now i know! it does :D...only thing is though...you talked to quiet in the tut....i couldnt hear :P so i just paused because after seeing the end image, i believe i can recreate it :D, im not a noob, but i just decided to take a look because i was like, wow they do have it!!!
Thanks for the comment Jeff, Thats cool that you use UDK, I use it to, and Unity also, I use Unity more often because of the copyright rules and the easy drag and drop interface
So yeah well the way I found out about the boolean modifier was through a Maya magazine, but before that I was just like you, I wanted to know how to do this :p
Anyway I'm sorry for the sound qaulity, it was one of my first tutorials and I had a very bad Mic back then, I should really rerecord over this tutorial.
