In my time of working with Blender, people have always asked me why their Blender work goes all purple, or why their friend is seeing their work in purple. This is because you need to pack the .blend file, this is so easy to do, its done in just a few clicks.

So packing the .blend file, saves all images used to texture your mesh, straight in to the .blend
