Hey guys, this is part 3 of a 5 part tutorial series.
By the end of these tutorials you will create an underground carpark scene.
You will cover:
- Part 1: Modeling the building shell
- Part 2: Modeling pipes and other misc objects in the scene to give it a more realistic look
- Part 3: Texturing the whole scene using textures from cgtextures
- Part 4: Setting up the lights
- Part 5: Finishing off the scene with some advanced compositing
The techniques used in these tutorials will help you with your own personal projects.

THX Rex, been looking forward to this one :)
Your welcome Varanosh :)
Thank you Rex for this solid modeling tutorial. The Blender world doesn't have enough of these, only critters and characters.
I'm setting up to do a few tutorials on architectural design myself.
Thanks Gary! Good luck with your architectural design tutorials, we defenitly need more of them in the Blender community.
i was waiting this part for a long time, however i am disappointed:
- unnecessarly long texturing (photoshop)
- unwillingly telling the commands (some unprepared things... boring)
- repetetive actions and words
:(
i am sorry PLEASE do the next part..
i didnt mean to hurt you, forget those PLEASE...
Yah. Rex? Blender's community has this hilarious problem where no one will admit work is bad. So this has to be said:
"Underground Carpark part 3: The day I stopped caring"
hi rex, i'v been following all your tutorials and i am waiting for the lighting and compositing.
i have to say that your tutorials are very nice and well explaind (dont know what other guys are talking about?!). i found that you explain your technique in details which makes it much better to understand and follow the tutorials.
please keep it up cuz there is others who enjoy the tutorials alot and wan to learn more from you. ;)
Hey Rex, just checking to see if you plan on finishing this one out. I mostly use Blender to create environments, and this seems like a good tutorial series to help build those skills. Take care.
Yup, I'm checking too, or I'll have to finish it myself. I haven't done much Blender since I sold my home. We've been packing, so your tutorials are a nice distraction from real life.
